PokeMMO Honey Trees: Locations and Encounter Guide

Find all 21 Sinnoh honey trees, learn the one-hour mechanic, see available encounters, and plan an efficient PokeMMO honey route.

PokeMMO’s honey trees are yellow trees scattered throughout Sinnoh. Apply Honey, wait for the tree to shake, and interact with it to start an encounter. The mechanics below come from the Guide Tavern community guide and the community Honey Tree video guide, not official patch notes. Check the in-game encounter data if a later update changes anything.

How PokeMMO honey trees work

Apply one, two, or three layers of Honey to a tree. A tree that has not produced an encounter remains stationary; after the waiting period, it shakes when an encounter is ready. The reported wait is one real-life hour, not one in-game hour.

Honey appliedReported result
1 HoneyOne Pokémon in a single encounter
2 HoneyA single or double battle; the forum guide describes the split as approximately 50/50
3 HoneyA double or triple format, with community reports of up to three Pokémon participating

Three layers do not guarantee three Pokémon appearing simultaneously. Some reports describe a third Pokémon entering after one of the initial Pokémon is weakened.

At three layers, a full 21-tree run requires 63 Honey. The video demonstrates a shorter 20-tree route using 60 Honey and treats one isolated tree as optional.

Honey Tree encounters and held items

A later encounter summary in the community forum lists these groups:

Community-listed rarityPokémon
CommonCombee, Wurmple
UncommonAipom, Burmy, Cherubi
RareCascoon, Silcoon
Very rareHeracross, Munchlax

Rarity labels are not completely consistent across the same thread: an older list calls Heracross common, while a later reply and the video place it among the very rare encounters. Treat these categories as community guidance rather than guaranteed odds. Do not promise a rare catch from any particular tree.

The sources also report these possible held items:

  • Combee: Honey
  • Cherubi: Miracle Seed
  • Munchlax: Leftovers
  • Wurmple: Pecha Berry or Bright Powder in the older forum listing

A lead Pokémon with Frisk can identify held items, while Thief or Covet can take them. If you are hunting a target shiny, combine the route with the PokeMMO shiny-hunting guide. For broader item and income planning, see the PokeMMO money-making guide.

All 21 Sinnoh honey tree locations

The community location guide lists trees in these areas:

  • Floaroma Meadow
  • Valley Windworks
  • Eterna Forest exterior
  • Fuego Ironworks
  • Route 205: north and south
  • Route 206
  • Route 207
  • Route 208
  • Route 209
  • Route 210: north and south
  • Route 211: east
  • Route 212: north and south
  • Route 213
  • Route 214
  • Route 215
  • Route 218
  • Route 221
  • Route 222

Route 221 is the most isolated location in the demonstrated route. From Sandgem Town, travel south and Surf southeast toward the Pal Park side of the route.

Practical route and preparation

A complete community route can be condensed to this order:

  1. Sandgem Town → Route 221, then Canalave City → Route 218.
  2. Floaroma Meadow → Valley Windworks → Route 205 South → Fuego Ironworks.
  3. Eterna City → Route 205 North → Eterna Forest exterior.
  4. Oreburgh City → Route 207 → Route 206.
  5. Hearthome City → Route 208 → Route 212 North → Route 209 → Route 210 South → Route 215 → Route 210 North.
  6. Celestic Town → Route 211 East.
  7. Pastoria City → Route 212 South → Route 213 → Route 214, then finish at Route 222 from Sunyshore City.

For the full route, prepare Fly, Surf, Cut, and Rock Smash. Defog is optional, but the forum guide recommends using it before battling in the foggy Route 210 area to avoid accuracy problems. Repels make the travel portions easier.

You can buy Honey from the Floaroma Meadow merchant or obtain it through the GTL. The sources disagree about the price: the forum records $750 from the merchant, while the video reports $50 from the merchant and approximately $750 on the GTL. Verify the current price in-game rather than relying on an old route budget.

The video also describes optional farming methods: use Frisk with Thief or Covet on wild Combee or Surskit, or use Honey Gather on Teddiursa or Combee. Its roughly 10% Honey Gather figure is based on community testing, so it should be treated as an estimate rather than a guaranteed yield.

FAQ

Is the Honey Tree timer one game hour?

No. The community sources describe a wait of one real-life hour. This is different from handheld-series guides that use longer timers.

Can another player take my Honey Tree encounter?

According to the forum guide’s reply, another player does not remove your encounter. The Honey timer is tied to the player who applied it, so you can still interact with the tree when it is ready.

Are there four fixed Munchlax trees?

Do not rely on main-series four-tree or trainer-ID guides. A forum player reported finding Munchlax at more than four different locations, and the collected PokeMMO sources do not establish a reliable fixed-tree method.
