How the Calculator Works
The calculator starts with the commonly documented normal PokeMMO Shiny rate of 1 in 30,000. One regular +10% modifier produces 1 in 27,000, while Donator Status and Shiny Charm together produce 1 in 24,000. The calculator applies selected +10% modifiers to the base denominator.
The chance of at least one success after n independent encounters is calculated as:
1 - (1 - per-encounter chance)^n
This answers a probability question, not a guarantee. A player can find a Shiny on the first encounter or go well beyond the displayed expected number.
Which Bonuses Should Be Enabled?
- Enable Donator Status only while the status is active on your account.
- Enable Shiny Charm only during the charm's active hour.
- Enable Shiny Wars wild bonus only for eligible wild encounters during the August 1-28 event.
Shiny Wars excludes eggs, fossils, Game Corner purchases, Shedinja, and other non-wild captures. Disable the event option for those methods even while the event is live.
